BREAKING Federal Charges Expected Against Rand Paul’s Attacker

Sen. Rand Paul has been told to expect federal charges against his socialist neighbor who attacked the Republican senator last week, Fox News’ Shepard Smith is reporting.

A federal charge would indicate the government believes the attack was politically motivated.

  1. I wonder if he will ask the Feds to stand down since he (correctly) believes they should have limited criminal power outside DC.

  2. Typical sleight-of-hand strategy. Like the overzealous charges against the police in Baltimore it is designed to get the cronies off the hook and simultaneously pacify the rubes. Over-charge, fail to convict, can't retry on lesser charges due to double jeopardy. Local Kentucky officials should race to get their charges filed and race to get him in court before the corrupt federal goons takeover and shield a sympathetic stooge.

    1. Au contraire, both "sovereigns" can charge and try. Now bow down for our Dual Kings!

    2. Government has established with the cops that beat up Rodney King back in the 1990s that a person can be charged at both the state and federal levels for the same act. After the cops were acquitted on the state level the federal government charged them with civil rights violations for the same act. This is how they get around the double jeopardy prohibition. I would assume there are technically different charges for assaulting a senator vs. ordinary assault on the state level. Otherwise the feds have no jurisdiction.
