A Small Bit of Positive News From South Korea

Moon Jae-in, a former human rights lawyer and political veteran, is set to become South Korea’s new leader according to exit polls.

Early indications are that Moon garnered more than 41 per cent of the vote, defeating his two main rivals — Hong Joon-pyo, a conservative, and Ahn Cheol-soo, a centrist.

The plus comes in the fact that Moon is the son of North Korean refugees and has outlined a twin-track approach of increasing pressure on Pyongyang while leaving the door open for engagement.
