I don't find that to be logical. Would the US government or the US people want Canada or Mexico to be destabilized. I personally would be happy if Mexico would a couple of levels more stable than it is. I live in Arizona. I don't want California or New Mexico to be destabilized.
I don't think the Israeli government believes it can or wants to sell more Israeli armaments to Syria or Syrian rebels if the Assad government fails.
I find this occurrence to be just one more puzzle.
Anti-Assad US intervention is on their behalf to begin with, and to supporters of Israel, instability justifies more of it. The larger goal is likely a US dependent regime ruling Syria, as there has long been in Egypt and Jordan.
