The Israeli air force has launched a missile attack on Syrian army positions in the province of Quneitra bordering Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.
obviously they want anyone around them to be destabilized.
I don't find that to be logical. Would the US government or the US people want Canada or Mexico to be destabilized. I personally would be happy if Mexico would a couple of levels more stable than it is. I live in Arizona. I don't want California or New Mexico to be destabilized.I don't think the Israeli government believes it can or wants to sell more Israeli armaments to Syria or Syrian rebels if the Assad government fails.I find this occurrence to be just one more puzzle.
Anti-Assad US intervention is on their behalf to begin with, and to supporters of Israel, instability justifies more of it. The larger goal is likely a US dependent regime ruling Syria, as there has long been in Egypt and Jordan.
IIRC, the reason Israel attacked the USS Liberty had something to do with the golan heights.
