Tillerson: U.S. Prepared to Take Military Action Against North Korea, If Necessary

Tillerson lands in South Korea.
It's getting hot on the Korean peninsula.

“We’re exploring a new range of diplomatic, security and economic measures. All options are on the table,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said at a news conference in Seoul with Yun Byung-se, the South Korean foreign ministe., adding that while the U.S. did not want military conflict, threats “would be met with an appropriate response.”

“If they elevate the threat of their weapons program to a level that we believe requires action, that option is on the table,” he said.

“At this point, it’s almost the inevitable next step in the escalation. The only thing is that we’ve never been here before,” said Hahm Chai-bong, the president of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul. . “The U.S. and South Korea have never put this much pressure on North Korea or responded in such a direct way before.”

Yesterday, Tillerson said that diplomatic talks with North Korea had failed.

  1. Oh, boy, here we go. Do you think the peace movement can be resuscitated? BTW, where'd he get those pants? Lucky he didn't trip on those cuffs. The jacket looks like somebody else's as well.

    1. Lol. Those company guys, no matter how high up, always dress like crap. Shoes not shined, oversized coats (even though often a good material / brand) and pants...

    2. Funny. The first thing I noticed about Tillerson was how dumpy he looked. Zero class.

  2. In 1969 Nixon's atty general John Mitchell gave the American people and the press a piece of honest advice that we ought to remember every time a president or politician opens his mouth and drools honey: "Watch what we do, not what we say."

However, it seems Democracy, our secular religion, is so ingrained in our beings, that to forsake our high priests and their lies would be giving up our faith and exposing ourselves to the vicissitudes of an autonomous life.
Hence we have elections to distract us from the truth.

  4. So gross. I had hoped Tillerson wouldn't be such a lapdog pussy. Don't any of them worry about their souls and the bloodshed they may cause?

It's so easy to say "North Korea shouldn't have nukes". Of course they shouldn't. But neither should any country, particularly the one country that has actually used the things on a civilian population.

Politicians, Ron Paul (and maybe Nigel) excepted, never have the courage in our modern era to be truly principled and accept the consequences.

  5. I read somewhere that under a president Hillary Clinton, there's be a thermo nuclear war with Russia. Everything short of that means we should support Trump unconditionally and apologize for everything he does.
