Sanctuary Cities List Grows to Nearly 500

The Ohio Jobs and Justice Political Action Committee says in a new report that there are now nearly 500 sanctuary cities in the United States.

"More will be coming,” Steve Salvi, founder of OJJ told the Washington Times. “A lot of communities now, there’s resolutions in the works and citizens groups encouraging city councils to pass them.”

Heroic. Government vs. government battles are almost always good as are local governments defying the federal government.

Four sanctuary cities have been removed, or will shortly be removed, after changing policies and returning to cooperation with federal immigration officials. Salvi reports that Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska, have both been removed after their respective city councils passed resolutions affirming cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security.

  1. Question: Would you consider the concept of Sanctuary City a form of decentralization?

  2. Yeah, we need more 'turd world' trash in the cities of America. They contribute more costs than benefits. Thanks libtardians. I don't like the state either, but you realize these third world people won't do much for the cause of limited government.

  3. It may be a move toward decentralization, but it really isn't until those cities are required to move forward without federal funds. Since you mention Fairbanks Alaska (I live there) ... we have a large illegal immigrant community here (most diverse state in the nation with legal immigrants well represented). I'm all for decentralization, but money needs to stop flowing either way for it to actually be decentralized.
