VIDEO Trump & Abe Joint Statement on North Korea...

...following North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile toward the sea off its eastern coast.

The projectile took off at 7:55 a.m. from Banghyon, a town near North Korea’s northwestern border with China, and flew 310 miles before falling in the sea, South Korea said, according to The New York Times.

The North Korean missile launch came less than two days after President Trump said on Friday that defending against the nuclear and missile threats from North Korea was a “very, very high priority.”

  1. I don't know how much of a role history plays in diplomatic relationships between states, but if it plays a role at all the fact that Trump is standing wth Abe in public defiance of N. Korea who receives its economic and military aid from China, is only a provocative gesture not a defensive one. Trump intelligence is nauseating.

    Eric Margolis wrote last month:

"It’s easy to dismiss pip-squeak North Korea and sneer at its pretensions to major power status. That would be a mistake. In 1950, at the time of the Korean War, North Korea’s economy was larger than that of South Korea thanks to Japan’s colonial industrial policies. Korea’s Communists, like their allies in China, took the lead in fighting Japanese occupation. America suffered heavy casualties fighting North Korean forces."
