Trump Advisers Want Netanyahu to Attend Inauguration

This is utterly asinine and irresponsible.

President-elect Donald Trump’s advisers want to invite Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu to the inauguration or arrange a meeting of the two leaders before then, a source close to the transition said, according to The New York Post.

Transition leaders led by Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner have been aggressively courting Netanyahu and want him to attend the Jan. 20 festivities, the source told The Post.

“There’s a plan for Trump to meet with Netanyahu,” the source said. “They’re talking all the time. And Netanyahu is talking about possibly going to the inauguration.”

Trump should show favoritism to no foreign nation. This goes doubly for a nation like Israel where such a favoritism would strongly suggest support for Israel against the Muslim world. From a U.S. libertarian realpolitik perspective, there appears to be no reason to agitate the Muslim world in this way. It will only create blowback and make the world an even more dangerous and unstable place.

  1. I guess Donald Trump and Jared Kushner want to help Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu mow the grass more effectively in what used to be Palestine. Maybe Donald wants to use his real estate genius to help the Israeli apparatus to steal what is still left after more than 67 years of theft of private property by gunpoint by the Israeli state.
