Libertarian Trump Fanboy Delusion

At my post, BREAKING All Senior State Dept. Management Officials Resign, a Trump fanboy has emerged to chastise me. He writes:
You said that when Trump did something that was positive you would praise him. You are not living up to your statement on this!
There is nothing positive here to praise. To think so is delusional. Trump is simply clearing the deck to put in his team of crazed hawkish meddlers in foreign affairs.

Is the commenter unaware that Trump plans to create "safe zones" in Syria, plans to order the Secretary of Defense to draw up plans to more aggressively fight ISIS  and his Secretary of State has stated, along with Trump's spokesman, that China's building of islands in the South China Sea will not be tolerated?

As Eric Margolis writes this morning at LewRockwell.com:
President Donald Trump is getting ready to plunge into the burning Mideast with all the zeal and arrogance of a medieval crusader. The new administration’s knowledge of the region is a thousand miles wide and two inches deep.

Reviving a truly terrible idea originated by know-nothing Congressional Republicans, Trump proposes US-run safe zones in Syria for refugees from that nation’s conflict....
Just when it seemed that the Syrian conflict was beginning to simmer down, Trump’s intervention will be certain to heat up the conflict and undermine potential peace agreements. In case there are still Muslims who believed the US is their friend, as was the case fifty years ago, they will now understand that America is their enemy thanks to Trump’s ham-handed, ‘no Muslims’ policies.
Muslims account for 23% of the world’s population and will surpass Christians in about four decades. Besides riling up the Chinese, is it really wise to antagonize and insult members of Islam, the world’s fast-growing religion?  And single out Muslims as most likely to face torture? Bad idea.
Trump is shifting targets here (away from Russia but he is far from toning down US overseas belligerence.

If Trump names Lew Rockwell, Jeff Deist. Ron Paul, Daniel McAdams, Justin Raimondo, Walter Block, Tom Woods, Chris Rossini or Michael Edelstein as part of those to replace the departed, I will cheer loudly. Or anyone that is even a shadow of these men.

That said, I expect even more hate from those that will replace those have been booted from State. Hate for especially Iran and China, and Muslims generally.  There is nothing to cheer here.

  1. I'm no "Trump fanboy" but it appears these "moves" aren't so far outside the norm.

  2. This was completely expected and necessary given the way Obama/Clinton/CIA ran the State Dept. It's not like these government stooges who were asked to resign were adherents of NAP. Let's call this a wash.

I don't expect the Syrian safe-zones idea to come to fruition, but we'll see.

  4. I'm the person who posted the quote you are referencing above. I generally agree with you Mr. Wenzel on most matters. I was disappointed in your article condemning Pres. Trump purging ( which you originally jumped the gun and said they were resigning ) the State Dept. of it's senior staff which is the norm! I'm aware as I commented in another of your articles that Pres. Trump will be creating safe zones to stem the flow of refugees. In that comment I pointed out that you don't know how it will be done! Trump could possibly work with Russia and Syria to do it. You are taking a PESSIMISTIC view of the potential method of achieving this. Much like your constant negative commenting on Sen. Rand Paul who almost singlehandedly STOPPED direct U.S. military large scale troop involvement! I'm taking a wait and see attitude and hoping for the best. I do wish that Ron Paul or any of the other people you reference would be running the State Dept. or better yet the White House but we have to try to work to influence what we have! As the expression goes: Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good! Your ALL OR NOTHING stance usually leaves you with NOTHING!

    1. You are a distortion artist. I didn't jump any gun. I reported what the news media was reporting and indeed sourced The Daily Beast and the Washington Post.

Jumping the gun can only occur when someone is aware there is a gun.

Further, I only reported that the facts that resignations occurred and not any of the hyperbole that accompanied the Daily Beast and Washington Post articles.

I also added: "It is unclear at this time why the resignations occurred."

I then updated the post when n it was clear the circumstances of resignations.

The rest of your comment contains more distortions of my positions. I direct you to Libertarian Realpolitik

Your Trump fanboy delusional thinking is showing.

  5. who says the US must run the "safe zones"? Why not let Russia Turkey Jordan handle it. Maybe the US helps pay for it at most.

  6. I'm tempted to call you a person who doesn't honor his word and is a permanent pessimist but I suspect that it's not the case. Stick to the subject matter! It's difficult to intellectually engage with someone who attacks you by name calling! Your initial report was INACCURATE! Do you regularly publish before you check the facts? I could conclude from your negative description of the State Dept. purging and future unnamed replacements that you are a fan of keeping Victoria Nuland in Trump's State dept. when I know from reading your blog that this is not correct. Please refer to me as a "Hopeful Optimist" in your future articles. P.S. The Daily Beast and Wash. Post are not paragons of truth and should not be trusted by anyone with your acumen.
