Milo Featured on Nightline

Below are a couple of video clips with some background info into the thinking and actions of the alt-right.

Although  Milo Yiannopoulos has written that he is not a member of the alt-right, I consider that similar to an orchestra conductor saying he does not play in the orchestra.

It's good to see Social Justice Warriors taking ground fire. More people need to be made aware there is opposition to the SJW movement and the alt-right attacks can sometimes display humor (sometimes questionable sophomoric humor). However, the alt-right approach does not strike me as getting to the fundamental problems of the SJW attempts to build a society based on victimhood and the SJW demands for government policing of non-SJW approved speech and actions.

In the end, it is an intellectual battle that must bury the SJW movement, not trolls.

  1. To your point, Milo expressed great admiration for Giuliani on a recent Tom Woods podcast.

    The intellectual battle continues.

  2. The flamboyant Milo is just as offensive and annoying as the SJWs he skewers.

  3. Excellent analysis Robert. The alt-right is great for pushing back SJWs. But they ultimately play the same collectivist identity politics. Individualism is a psychological hard sell.

  4. While I believe in intellectual arguments, enjoy them, swayed by them, I have come to the conclusion they are effective with regards to the masses.

Intellectual arguments are fine for people who are rational and accept new data and adjust accordingly.

The reason libertarianism is such a minority is because the vast majority of people are irrational and will not accept new data. The intellectual arguments will only gather a percentage of the rational, thinking, intellectual people.

Trolls are much more effective. Look at Ron Paul vs. Donald Trump. Ron Paul tried intellectual arguments and Donald Trump played the role of troll. It's a sad comment on the human race but it is what it is.

Yes to the first assertion, because, as Vox Day, who does lay claim to being part of the alt-right, and has done a good job of summarizing it:

    9. The Alt Right believes identity > culture > politics.

We know the "intellectual arguments" and we reject them. We have "accepted the data" and "adjusted accordingly." You haven't.

"Individualism" is not hard sell for those of British, particularly English, ancestry. And quelle surprise it is indeed the English that were the most successful group in history to create and sustain an individualist culture.

The Magic Dirt Theory has been wholly discredited. Transporting besotted refugees from Third World hellholes to the West does not transform them into freedom-loving individualists. Which is why, contra Bob, free and open immigration even without a government agenda or implicit (welfare) support (as asserted in another post) will NEVER work.

You are wrong. First, the alt-right has solid intellectual underpinnings. Trolling is merely a tactic, and very good one, for the simple reason that it clearly works. I don't see Candidate Clinton or the SJWs (or their Cuckservative friends on the right) recoiling in fright from you Bob, despite us being ostensibly on the same side. They are absolutely petrified of the alt-right though, especially all that unseemly trolling you cavalierly dismiss.
