Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, who used government courts to destroy the website Gawker is Donald Trump’s top choice for the ninth seat on the Supreme Court of the United States if the general election goes his way, according to Huffington Post.
Thiel graduated from Stanford Law School with a J.D. in 1992 and clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, according to HuffPo.
Calling Thiel an Austrian-lite and a libertarian-lite is probably giving him too much credit.
I reviewed his book, Zero to One, here.

More evidence that the "progressives" and SJWs (if there is a difference) cannot bear getting too close to Austrian or libertarian theory. They are so afraid that they won't come within three blocks of actual Austrian analysis. Think Progress became hysterical at Thiel's mention of GOLD and his observation that women tend to support the welfare state.

And they went hysterical at Randy Barnett

Reading that Think Progress "analysis" of Randy Barnett.......I do not think that most libertarians or Austrians understand how the legal and "constitutional" basis in support of the Fed, Keynesianism and federal economic regulation is built upon quicksand and total B.S. It is all based upon about 30 seconds of "we all know that laissez faire and the gold standard caused the Great Depression" and therefore, the "old fashioned" rules of Constitutional law must be updated.
ReplyDeleteThe basis for the "update" is nothing but lies and a cowardly refusal to engage us. A good thing that has come out of the Alt-Right's belligerence is the demonstration of how fearful and cowardly the "progressives" truly are. It is evidence that they really have no confidence in their own abilities to debate us. They know it and we should know it too.
