Donald Trump on Freedom of the Press

Donald Trump on FOX this morning:

Trump is going to be a major embarrassment for "Libertarians for Trump" if he is elected president. He has extreme authoritarian instincts.

  2. "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson, to Archibald Stewart (23 December 1791)

That's for all the necons, alt-rights, and liberals out there who seem so clueless about the subject of freedom and rights. Trump should be thought of as tyrannical for his words, not embraced as a candidate for president. Such a situation speaks volumes about the makeup of the republican base. They're begging for their chains now, just as they begged for blowback a decade ago.

    1. BINGO! Conservatives have no problem with authoritarianism as long as it's their guy doing it. They would be screaming bloody murder if this came out of Obama or Hillary's mouth

  3. Clinton is no different.

All these assholes are about power -- them having it all, and you not having any.

  4. Disagree. In civil law, a fundamental principle is the concept of a duty of care. Can a gun manufacturer be sued because a gun was used in a crime? No. Can the dealer who sold the gun? Yes if the dealer sold to a known criminal or was careless about who he sold to.
What is the duty of care? It is the care a reasonable man would exercise. If there is a demonstrable connection between the 'how to make a bomb' magazine and an injury, the magazine can be sued.
