ReplyDeleteNo joke, Peter. I am waiting to hear that "evidence" shows that Syria was behind the attempted coup. Wasn't Erdogan caught a year or two back talking about creating a false flag event to invade Syria? Wouldn't be surprised.
ReplyDeleteI have studied politics and power. Mao said political power flows from the barrel of a gun, but it actually comes from public support. No regime can last when it loses its perceived legitimacy. In the same token, it is extremely difficult to pull off a violent coup without substantial public support.
