Going Into the Weekend in Rahmaland: 3 dead and 13 wounded in shootings

The Chicago Tribune reports:

Three men died in separate shootings Thursday, including a 25-year-old CPS employee killed in front of a West Side elementary school.

The fatal shootings were among several that left at least 13 other people injured, police said...

[A] man, 20, was killed in the 7800 block of South East End Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood about 4:05 p.m. He was hit in the body multiple times and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.

According to police, the man was on the sidewalk sitting on a chair when a light-colored SUV drove up and someone came out and began firing at the victim. The shooter stood over the man and shot multiple times into the victim's body, police said.

At 9:15 p.m., a 31-year-old man was fatally shot in the head in Englewood. He was on a porch in the 5600 block of South Peoria Street when someone fired shots from a passing car. Police found him unresponsive. He was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead.

In other shootings:

At 3 a.m. Friday, two men ages 24 and 22 were shot in Uptown. They told investigators they were in the 1100 block of West Leland Avenue when they heard gunfire and felt pain. Both men were shot in the leg and went to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.

At 12:45 a.m. Friday, a 38-year-old man was shot in the Gresham neighborhood. He was in the 1300 block of West 82nd Street when he was shot in the leg. He went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.

At about midnight, a 21-year-old man was shot in the Near West Side neighborhood. He walked into Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left ankle and told investigators he was with a group of people when a gun that one of them was carrying accidentally went off.
