All Hell Breaking Lose Falling Brexit Vote: Sinn Féin Calls for Vote on Irish Unity

All edges of the graying Empire are in danger of collapse.

Sinn Féin's national chairman Declan Kearney said the question of Northern Ireland remaining as part of the UK had now been brought into sharp focus, reports RTE News.

"We have a situation where the north is going to be dragged out on the tails of a vote in England," he said.

"That is a huge democratic deficit for our society, building on the existing democratic deficit of partition.

"The British Government have now forfeited its mandate to represent the north of Ireland in relation to the European Union."

He added: "We now have a situation where Brexit has become a further cost of partition, a further cost of the Union and Sinn Féin will now press our demand, our long standing demand, for a border poll."

Voters in Scotland have also endorsed the Remain campaign.

The SNP manifesto for May's Scottish Parliament election said there should be another ballot if there was a "significant and material" change in circumstances from the 2014 vote, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against its will.

Former first minister Alex Salmond warned that Scots could hold a second independence referendum if the country is "dragged" out of the EU.

This is fascinating, although I have no idea why Northern Ireland and Scotland would want to jump out of the hands of one oppressive overlord and into the hands of another.

Also, an exit vote is scheduled for the Netherlands.

That said, the global establishment is shaking. No doubt new plotting has already started, though, of late the global establishment has not proved particularly skilful in its plotting.

  1. Britain is now the country of independence compared to Scotland and Ireland?! Good bye Braveheart and IRA....

  2. All the world is watching this event, which makes me wonder if we should be watching something else. (How's that for paranoia?)

  3. I would be fine with the EU if it was classically liberal instead of socialistic.

  4. Slaves like their slavery. Freedom is scary. That is "why Northern Ireland and Scotland would want to jump out of the hands of one oppressive overlord and into the hands of another."
