It Looks Like Total War in the Republican Party

CNN reports:
Mitt Romney has instructed his closest advisers to explore the possibility of stopping Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, a source close to Romney's inner circle says.

The 2012 GOP nominee's advisers are examining what a fight at the convention might look like and what rules might need revising.

"It sounds like the plan is to lock the convention," said the source.
If this is accurate, then we have an all-out war between the establishment and Trump-led rank and file Republican members.

Unfortunately, it is completely unclear what policies Trump would institute. Indeed, I am not sure he would stop US entanglements overseas. He is not going to fight neocon wars, for sure. but he could very well send US ground troops to fight that "great threat to America" ISIS. And it is likely that it would only take one false flag operation to get Trump hopped up over pretty much any country.

On the domestic front, it looks like he would be a net positive on healthcare, but he talks idiotic trade wars, has an insane illegal immigration policy (I can't imagine the police state that would be required to toss 11 million generally hard-working  illegals out of the country)and would be terrible on basic civil liberties. And it appears he has the authoritarians Guiliani and Christie as advisers.

It is just too early for revolution. Nothing good will come out of this Republican internal war,

  1. Nothing good? Some top libertarians we both respect are sharply disagreeing, showing quite a bit of excitement and support for the Trump Destruction of the GOP.

  2. Generally hardworking illegals? Do you have data on the net welfare state use by illegal and legal immigrants? What percentage of them are hardworking and what is the net earnings vs welfare utilization? What is your data source? What is your methodology for arriving at your conclusions? Do you understand the difference between anecdotes and data?

  3. Priebus was the engineer behind this effort and Trump knows that. When Trump wins his head will roll and all the Ron Paul people will be there to spit on him. Bleep you Reince.

Sorry for the bad language. I shouldn't have said "Reince", I know it is a bad word.

  4. While many patriots are still active in trying to replace the GOP leadership far too many were soft and ran back to their TV's or the internet or to third parties.
All organizations are only as good as the sum of their parts. Parties are democratically run and leaders selected. We need MORE battle hardened patriots to come and fight and bring more! Not run when they are outnumbered! Bring in more troops.
