The Trump Sessions Relationship Has Been Developing Behind the Scenes for Nearly a Year (Very Scary Stuff)

From WaPo:
[T]he relationship between Trump and Sessions has slowly warmed over the past year. Starting early last year, Sessions and his advisers privately consulted with Trump on immigration policy and helped to shape the candidate’s position paper. They had one extensive call in July that was confirmed by both sides and is considered the moment that Sessions began to consider backing Trump.

“I like him,” Trump said of Sessions when asked about that call. “Tough guy. I like that. We have a similar thought process.”

By August, they were in more frequent touch — two men who shared staunch conservative views on trade and immigration.
I fear this will go way beyond "Papers, please."  WaPo again:
"Politicians have promised for 30 years to fix illegal immigration. Have they done it? Donald Trump will do it," Sessions said at the Madison City Schools Stadium, where thousands gathered to hear Trump speak. “I’ve told Donald Trump this isn’t a campaign, this is a movement.”...

Giuliani, Christie, Sessions. These are not libertarians coming together around Trump.

We need less papers (for all of us) and a Welfare Wall. not more papers and a border wall.

  1. The Welfare Wall is not going to happen. Trump can't wave a magic wand and make that happen. In the context of a welfare wall being impossible at the moment, will you approve of actual immigration restrictions, RW? This is something that Trump can do as president by enforcing existing laws.

A simple yes or no will do.

    1. The text of the 1965 immigration act has the words 'visas shall be made available'. So there's not a whole lot a president can do with regard to stopping the flow without congress given my quick read.

Any welfare wall and/or immigration restrictions will have to be created by congress. Both are unlikely.

However illegal immigration is something the executive branch has more power over. Since interior immigration checkpoints have already been established we could expect a lot more of that with someone like Trump.
