Rand's Democratic Senate Challenger Issues Statement on Rand's Dropping Out of the Presidential Race

Statement from Lexington Mayor Jim Gray:

Kentuckians deserve a full-time Senator who is focused on building the middle class, cutting government waste and improving the lives of the people right here at home. That’s what I’ve done as Mayor of Lexington and it’s what I’ll do as Senator. 

Paul spent years preparing for his presidential campaign and then took even more time away from Kentucky to pursue his personal ambitions. Now that he’s failed to catch fire with voters in other states, he’s coming back. Well, we deserve to be more than just a fall back plan. And we certainly deserve a Senator whose focus is on Kentucky, not one focused on planning his next run for President.
