The Deep State: The Fall of the Constitution and the Rise of a Shadow Government

  1. "Believe me, surveillance is something that the government ought to be doing it, if it's doing it at all, for the sake of national security, and it ought to be done under very strict guidelines, observing the 4th amendment for American citizens. ... You can not put that kind of burden of responsibility on people who are making a profit out of it."

Government surveillance is OK when government does it, so long as a few dusty constitutional words are thrown in - like they'd honor those words? Why is it that any thing that ought not be done is fine with so many as long as there's oversight?

  2. These guys are Bernie/Keynesian supporters... not easy to listen to them.

  3. "Observing the 4th Amendment for American citizens . . ."

Sure, right. Like they do at border and DUI checkpoints.
