Ron Paul: ‘I’m Scared To Death’ Trump Will Win The Nomination

Ron Paul on The Alan Colmes Show:

Ron Paul is right. Donald Trump is right out of Chapter 10 of Hayek's Road to Serfdom.

  1. Ron Paul said: "You can’t run a country like you run a business. They’re two entirely different things."

  2. Exactly. I've been thinking this exactly since the beginning of this race. Trump and Sanders are the 'strongmen' that Hayek references.

  3. Well, Ron and Robert, I'm scared to death that Hillary will win the nomination and the presidency. And Alternatively, I'm scared to death that robot-Rubio will win the nomination and the presidency. These two blind-to-facts warriors scare me far more than bluff and bluster deal-maker Trump.

    1. Like any of the others are an improvement. Pfft!

    2. Agreed. They all pretty much want to bomb the world and start WWIII except Trump. He may be a protectionist 'strongman', but he's smart and not a complete psychopath like most of the others.

  4. Trump is scarier than the rest because he's such a wildcard. They're all going to be disasters, but easily predictable disasters. There is no telling what Trump might cook up. Even if things start well, the more he succeeds, the more power he will have to fail with.

  5. Hard to say who would be worst. Trump's probably the sanest viable candidate on foreign policy, and I'm reluctantly supporting him as least-bad, but it's really hard to say since all the candidates left have at least some aspect that's completely horrible. All of them are scary in their own way, but I do think Trump being less controlled by the assorted war lobbies is the biggest advantage, and we need to keep in mind that both the bought and paid for congressional Republicans as well as the Dems will be against him, so his ability to actually act as a dictator should be curbed somewhat, at least domestically. I think Lew's right on this one.

  6. Fully agree with Ron, Trump (along with Sanders) is scary as hell. I know libertarians (including Rainmondo) say that he's anti-war but what if thats just a ruse just to get the paleocon vote (if they already werent going to vote for him because of immigration). Similar to how Obama was able to get the anti-war left vote when he first ran.

  8. This describes all the likely contenders:
RON PAUL: Well, I thought at the beginning it would be impossible, but now I’m scared to death that the American people might be just wanting to be taken care of. Sometimes people want to be taken care of economically, I’ll take care of you from cradle to grave, and others will just say I will take care of you, this is a mess and I’m the boss.
