Did Rand Paul's PAC Just Put Out An Anti-Semitic Ad?

Rand Paul's PAC is out with a couple of new radio ads. One is on his Christian faith and one is about ISIS.

As Lew Rockwell writes:

Note: while these are professionally made, they are boring. That is deadly in an IA or NH environment where people are being bombarded from morning to night by politicians’ claims. Short and interesting is all that will work, on radio especially.

But there is something else particularly curious going on in the "Proud Christian" ad. Here is the ad:



What some close Rand watchers are pointing to in the Rand comments in the ad is when Rand says this:

 I try to adhere to the tenets God's Word in the New Testament. I take seriously my oath to defend the Constitution and I try to keep true to my values regardless of the political outcome regardless of how popular or unpopular they may be. Ultimately as Christians our message should be a message of hope. We need leaders who can extol the American dream.

By singling out the New Testament, did Rand take a slap at the Old Testament and Jews? Another view being raised by careful Rand observers is that warmongering evangelicals justify their war fever based on a number of Old Testament passages versus the New Testament "turn the other cheek" message. Thus, Rand may have taken a swipe at the warmongering evangelicals by specifically singling out the New Testament.

Of course, in the end, Rand's message in the ad does what he does best, mix the state with non-state issues. He closes this way:

We must embrace the values of life liberty and prosperity that will lead this country back to greatness and we should do so proudly as Christians.

Ron Paul personally told me that he thought religion was a private issue and he didn't think religion and politics should be mixed.

It is just one more way that Rand has moved away from his father as he desperately seeks the eight year throne,
