Adding a moment of levity to a policy-thick speech about entitlement reform, Chris Christie said he considers Donald Trump a friend, but going out to dinner with the New York billionaire can be exhausting.
Trump is exactly how he seems on TV, Christie said.
“You sit down, he starts talking, he keeps talking while he’s eating, he keeps talking when the check comes and he talks to you all the way to the car – and about himself,” Christie told a crowd of about 60 at Kirkwood Community College.
