If it can't work for Chafee on the Graham-Leach-Bliley vote, it can't work for Benton.
If Benton's only charge is "lying to government assholes", then proving he was too busy to reasonably be able to keep all the details straight seems reasonable.
lol...it's actually a believable defense IMO. I'm just wondering how that legally gets him off the hook.I've heard the "innocent by reason of insanity" defense, is there an "innocent by reason of incompetence" defense?
