Walter Block and Scott Horton Debate Rand Paul

  1. For a libertarian, especially a notable figure in the movement like Walter Block, it is a huge tactical mistake to openly support Rand. Nick Gillespie's point in the the Washington Post that "it’s a mistake to conflate Rand Paul’s electoral success with that of the libertarian moment" is mostly wishful thinking because too many libertarians refuse to stop publicly supporting him. Do they not think the neocon media won't present Rand's election failure as a reflection of the entire movement itself? If you've followed Bill Kristol's methods since Pat Buchanan's 1992 campaign, you should know that's exactly what he's going to do. Libertarians should be pissed as all hell at Rand and Jesse Benton; not support them. Like the story of Sisyphus, they've pushed the rock back down the hill that Ron Paul struggled so hard to get to the top.

  2. Dr. Block. Rand wants war with Iran. His votes in Congress indicate that he wants it, and I believe that he is sincere. Why should we support Rand?
