Top Rand Paul Operatives Go On Leave Following Indictmnets

Jesse Benton and John Tate, the two Republican operatives at the helm of the pro-Rand Paul presidential super PAC America’s Liberty PAC, are taking a leave of absence after being indicted on federal charges of being involved in a scheme to bribe an Iowa state senator during the 2012 presidential cycle, reports Politico.

America’s Liberty PAC, the super PAC officially sanctioned by the Paul campaign, announced Thursday that Benton, the general consultant to the PAC, and Tate, the president of the PAC, would take a leave of absence “to vigorously fight to prove that they are innocent of these charges.”
