Remarkable: Inside the Ross Ulbricht Trial

THE BIG PICTURE Behind the scenes of the Ross Ulbricht trial, his mother talks. This is a very important interview: learn how the government can take away your freedom.  If you are suspicious of government you won't be surprised but you will be shocked.

  1. Martha Steward and Conrad Black were two high profile cases that actually shocked me into realizing deep down inside -- emotionally not just intellectually -- that Murray Rothbard's famous statement "the government is a gang of thieves writ large" was absolutely true. In both trials, the prosecution was politically motivated and led by a headcase. Both outcomes denied each victim their liberty -- not as a result, ultimately, of the original pretext, but rather as a result of actions that were purported to have taken place during the course of the "investigation". In Black's case, his convictions were vacated by an appeal court -- all but the conviction for "obstruction of justice". The only evidence adduced for this conviction was his office building's security camera, which showed Black carrying away bankers boxes. He'd been evicted from his office and given a deadline for removing his effects. the state never did have to prove what was in those boxes. Incredible. The state also used its RICO powers to seize/freeze all Black's financial assets before he was even arraigned on charges. This is the state's attempt to prevent anyone from being able to deploy one's financial resources to defend oneself from the state. I was reminded then also of Lew Rockwell's analogy: "the state is like a vicious, ferocious, blind, lumbering beast. It's awkward and senseless, but if it happens to get you in its maw, it will tear you to pieces with diabolic delight. Stay well away from it!!!"

    Words to live by, Lew.

  2. Well, I'm a tough ol' nut. But this reduced me to blubbering. All I could say, between sobs, to my girlfriend was; "What a rotten rotten country".
