Emanuel Rakes in Another $612,000 in Campaign Cash

Access is expensive in Rahmaland.

Three months after winning re-election, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is still reeling in campaign cash, collecting another $612,000 in contributions, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Topping the list of most recent donors is Grosvenor Capital CEO Michael Sacks and wife Cari Sacks, who combined to give Emanuel $200,000, reports CT..

Combined, the Sacks family and Grosvenor employees stand as the No. 1 donor to Emanuel's campaign, giving $3.6 million since he first ran for mayor in 2010. Michael and Cari Sacks alone account for nearly $2.9 million of that total. A friend and close confidant of Emanuel, Michael Sacks also serves as vice chairman of World Business Chicago, the city's private economic development arm.

Private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners and its employees are the No. 2 donor to Emanuel's campaign, and co-CEOs Paul Finnegan and Samuel Mencoff once again contributed to the mayor's campaign fund. Finnegan gave $100,000 while Mencoff contributed $50,000 late last month.

Other notable donors in Emanuel's latest filing include: World Business Chicago member and industrialist Craig Duchossois ($50,000); real estate developer Judd Malkin and son Barry Malkin ($20,000 each); restaurateur Richard Melman ($50,000); billionaire entrepreneur J.B. Pritzker ($25,000); and trading executive Rajiv Fernando ($15,000).
