Statement released by NBC:
At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.
Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.
To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC .
In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in “The Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC.
“Celebrity Apprentice” is licensed from Mark Burnett's United Artists Media Group and that relationship will continue.
Cute. Could it be that since Univision's barking didn't scare Trump, they are now sending a dog with teeth after him?
ReplyDeleteSounds more like NBC and Trump have found a way to dump a money loser (Miss USA/Miss Universe) and re-invigorate Celebrity Apprentice not to mention lifting Trumps public profile as he launches his political campaign. This might even re-invigorate Miss USA/Miss Universe. No way does Comcast/NBC dump a money maker or spend money defending themselves on principle unless it can be used to improve their financial position.
