Spike Lee Defends His Upcoming Film, 'Chiraq'

Spike Lee's upcoming project, "Chiraq," is a film about violence in Chicago. It has been criticized by local politicians for his likening the city to a war zone,.

"A lot of things have been said about this film ... [by] people who know nothing about the film. A lot of people have opinions about the so-called title of the film. Again, [they] know nothing about the film," he said, adding that those who criticize it will end up looking "stupid," reports ABC Chicago

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel told The Chicago Tribune that he was unhappy with the title, but Rahm said, "He did say the movie would take on the subject of black-on-black violence, specifically African-American male-to-African-American male violence, and how it's affecting the community and what goes on."

Spike may surprise, but I doubt  he will touch on the minimum wage laws, the drug laws and welfare, which are at the core of warzone Chicago, which means that in the end, he and his movie will probably be stupid.

  1. The troubles caused by minimum wage and drug laws require a subtle economic mind to understand. The people who buy into that stuff are caught in a cargo cult. Spike probably won't touch on it, but I hope he discusses the 'chip on the shoulder' tough-guy redneck aspect of African American culture.

  2. Spike Lee is a no-talent bum. If he was white, he would never be allowed near a seriously financed film project. You can bet that both his idiotic signatures will appear in this film: some black drunk will be holding a 40 oz. bottle of malt liquor capped with bomb fins and some other character will be filmed being dragged along on a trolley dolly.

Lee ruins every film he directs. I despise the little troll.
