A few weeks ago, DEA agents were caught having drug/sex parties with money from drug cartels.
Yes, you read that right, just in case you just did a double-take.
HuffingtonPost has details on the scathing punishments that were handed down:
DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart also admitted that “a number” of agents who were involved in prostitution were promoted between the time the incidents occurred and the time they were fully investigated. None of the DEA employees involved were fired. [...]From a libertarian standpoint, the DEA agents were doing nothing wrong. Drugs and prostitution are victimless crimes and laws against them should be abolished.
One of the agents involved retired, while seven others were suspended for periods ranging from one to 10 days, according to internal DEA reports recently turned over to committee investigators. Two other DEA employees received letters of caution.
The fact that the DEA goes after others who participate in the same activities (that they themselves seem to like) is the height of hypocrisy.
