This Is How the 8 Year Emperor Rolls Into Town

President Obama came into town yesterday evening. He is staying at the Fairmont Hotel at the top of the famous Nob Hill.

He probably has a bay view from his suite, so he likely can see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge from his window.

He just happened to roll into town when I was passing by and I was able to snap a few pics of how the man travels.

First, there is a motorcycle cop at every corner, preventing cars and pedestrian traffic from crossing the street, before he comes by.

Then there is a bomb squad that passes through.

The bomb squad  stops and brings out a bomb sniffing dog to check out a truck stopped on the street.

Then the escort motorcycle cops come by.

Then the Emperor. In this case, the motorcade came through pretty fast, no time to wave to the underclass. I think Obama was in this hybrid SUV limousine. I have seen Obama pass by in Washington D.C., also Clinton and Bush, but this is the first time I have not seen a president in a traditional stretch limousine.

The entire motorcade, including an ambulance, is pretty extensive, probably at least 20 vehicles.

  1. Funny. And here I thought only dictators needed this kind of protection.
