As Bush III Vies For The Crown...

By Chris Rossini

....he has some comments about Bush II, and Bush I.

Laurence Vance writes:
Jeb Bush was asked about his family during a recent speech in Detroit. On his father he said: “I love my dad, he’s the greatest man alive and anyone who disagrees, we can go outside.” On his brother he said: “I love my brother. I think he’s been a great president.”

George H.W. Bush is the greatest man alive? Was Jeb trying to be funny? His father is the one who started the war in Iraq that has been raging off and on for over 20 years.

George W. Bush was a great president? The truth, of course, is that he was one of the worst.
I'd like to add that it was H.W. who got the U.S. military machine back on firm footing. For after Vietnam, Americans went developed a strong case of "war-weariness".

Reagan was the first one to commit combat troops after Vietnam (in Latin America). Reagan also barred journalists from covering the action on the ground. During the Vietnam war, Americans got to see the horrific acts that were being committed, which surely added to the desire to end the war. Reagan nixed that. Americans, going forward, would be kept in the dark.

While Reagan got the war machine moving again, it was H.W. who kicked the momentum into high gear with the Gulf War.

In 1991, H.W. exclaimed:
"By God, we've kicked the Vietnam syndrome once and for all!"
