George Carlin: “I Don’t Believe Anything the Government Tells Me!”

From George Carlin:
I have certain rules I live by. My first rule I don't believe anything the government tells me. and I don't take very seriously the media, or the press, in this country. With the case in the Persian Gulf war they were nothing more than unpaid employees of the Department  of Defense.
Most of the time their function is kind of an unofficial public relations agency for the United States government, so I don't listen to them. I don't really believe in my country
and I gotta tell you folks, I don't get all choked up about yellow ribbons and American flags. I consider them to be symbol[for] the simple-minded.

  1. Was he a libertarian? He railed against everything. He hated govt and hated big corps who "own" everything. Sometimes I think he might of been a communist. Have to be careful. Communists are good at telling you what you want to hear..

    1. He was an anarchist! He hated all large establishments and anyone or anything that presumed to dictate the lives of others, as simple as that.

    1. Yep, it's obvious that Shipley doesn't pass the "Hate the state" test. He's a Cato Libertarian.
