Eric Garner's Widow & The Warped Nature of The State

By Chris Rossini

Eric Garner's widow says "Somebody needs to pay".

I immediately thought:

SHE PAYS!

SHE PAYS TAXES!

She pays the taxes, that pay the State employees, that murdered her husband.

How crazy is that?

Does Garner's widow still have to pay taxes, even though the State took her husband's life?

OF COURSE!

Contrast this with the private (and peaceful) interactions that take place in the marketplace.

The soup is cold? That's it. I'm never coming back to this restaurant again.

They charge how much? No thanks, I'm not doing business with them. I'll deal with their competitor.

No one can legally use aggression against another human being. It's the exact opposite of the warped and forced interactions with government.

What a tremendous error people make by believing in The State.

  1. Some wag should take a page from the Chinese Communist Party's bad old days and send her a bill for the bullet, stamped "PAID IN FULL".

  2. Err, make that an invoice for "chokehold services".

  3. Someone should make a youtube video (cartoon or actors) depicting this incident as an example of a monopolistic justice service, and comparing it with an example of free market law in action where people take their business elsewhere when the provider doesn't perform well. And demonstrating how justice service providers never stop striving to improve in order to serve their customers, thereby yielding the most fair and efficient justice system ever known.
