"Divine Right of The U.S. State" Disorder

By Chris Rossini

Cuban President Raul Castro makes it clear:
“It shouldn’t be expected that by improving relations with the United States, Cuba is renouncing the ideas for which we have fought for more than a century and for which our people have spilled so much blood and run the greatest risks.”
I can say with a good deal of certainty that the U.S. government also won't be renouncing the progressive ideas that have guided them for more than a century, and for which they have spilled so much blood.

So it's a push.

Cuba can remain Communist, and the U.S. can remain Crony Fascist.

Castro continues:
“In the same way we’ve never proposed that the Unites States change its political system, we will demand respect for ours.”
Yeah, I hate to break it to Raul, but the U.S. government doesn't roll like that.

If anything, because the U.S. government suffers from a "Divine Right of The U.S. State" disorder, they most certainly feel that "liberating" Cuba will work out better by getting rid of the embargo.
