When Bombing 7 Nations Just Isn't Enough

By Chris Rossini

How fascinating that Barack Obama, the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, as well as the man who brought tears to voters eyes with his campaign promises of peace, turned out to be the exact opposite!

In 6 years as President, Obama has bombed 7 nations (all of them Muslim):

  • Afghanistan
  • Iraq
  • Pakistan
  • Somalia
  • Yemen
  • Libya
  • Syria

Obama has also inserted the U.S. into an undefined and unending war against ISIS.

One would think that this would please the neocon set. Mr. Hope & Change continued the Bush legacy! What’s not to love?

But no, it’s never enough for the neocons. If Obama bombed 7 countries, neocons think he should have bombed 17.

Max Boot provides a nice example of how the game works:
He [Obama] would do well to borrow a page from Jimmy Carter who became a born-again hawk after the Iranian Hostage Crisis and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. But given Obama’s history of stubborn adherence to ideology, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
7 bombed nations still can’t quench Max Boot’s thirst. If he wants to talk about “stubborn adherence to ideology” he should look into a mirror.

Sadly, with Republicans sweeping the Democrats in the midterms, Boot may get his wish for more war. Ron Paul doesn’t pull any punches:

Non-interventionists have more tough work ahead.

The (bigger) war drums are on their way.
