We may only have days, if not hours, to live. That seems to be the message of Professor emeritus Guy McPherson, natural resources, ecology and evolutionary biology, who is also a grief counselor on the side. McPherson taught and conducted research at the University of Arizona for 20 years before leaving the university in 2009.

McPherson: ‘I think we are walking around to save our own funeral expenses at this point. We have triggered 39 self-reinforcing feedback loops. Those things feed on themselves and feed on each other as well.’

Q: Can we buy extra time? McPherson answers: ‘What we can do is enjoy and create moments of joy while we are here…humans will reach the end of the line in a relativity short time’

If he used any method involving fossil fuels to get to NZ, isn't he part of the problem?
