Ross Ulbricht's Silk Road Trial Moved to January 2015

The trial of Ross Ulbricht, the government-alleged owner  and operator of Silk Road, has been rescheduled.

The trial will now take place on Jan. 5, 2015. It was slated to start on 10th November of this year.

Joshua Dratel, Ulbricht's defense lawyer, requested the rescheduling in a letter to U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest of the Southern District of New York.

Dratel argued to Forrest that if the proceedings were to start in November, the trial would likely run into the Christmas holidays. The worry for the defense here, according to the letter, is that potential jurors may be swayed in their decision in order to speed up the process, or that planned vacations may get in the way of people serving jury duty at the time, reports the DailyDot.
