Fed Star Witness in Ron Paul Inc. Scandal Tests Positive for Weed (Illegal guns sales?)

Problems seem to haunt Kent Sorenson.

Sorenson, who has entered a guilty plea in the Ron Paul Inc. payoff scandal, has tested positive for marijuana in his system, the use of illegal substances is a violation of Sorenson's pre-sentencing release.

The failed drug test was reported Friday in federal court filings, in Des Moines, Iowa.

His attorney, F. Montgomery Brown, said Sorenson disclosed using marijuana prior to making his plea and denies using since he's been under court supervision. Testing shows declining levels of the drug, Brown added, which is "consistent with abstinence."

It appears that the Federales want to keep Sorenson out of prison for the time being, in the court documents, the probation officer assigned to Sorenson asked that no action be taken in response to the drug test.

In a separate development, a local Des Moines television station is reporting that Sorenson is selling guns over the internet. which would be another violation of his release terms.
