He could punch back by casually mentioning that policies similar to hers led to the deaths of, oh I don't know, a couple hundred million people last century. If it's death that she's worried about, anyway.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Cruz is "clueless when it comes to the extreme left." He's just more subtle and nuanced. Ocasio-Cortez and her lefty comrades tend to the hysterical which attracts attention but has only rarely been successful in U.S. politics. They are both incented by the power motive of politics which is a zero sum game. So their battle could escalate in violence. But neither are good for individual liberty.

DeleteWhat an infantile display from the congresswoman. Sadly it's true that this type of hyperbolic rancor is red meat to partisans on both sides. Doesn't matter if it's a lie or not. The emotional manipulation is fostered will still resonate.

DeleteHow bizarre that someone of Cruz's august stature, intellect and bona fides---he's a Princeton and Harvard alumnus, then a former Solicitor General for Texas who argued numerous cases before the U.S. Supreme Court---having to put up with the spitballs from this twit of a former bartender and current nihilistic wrecker of civilizations. Just acknowledging her existence must be painful for him.
