Gavin Newsom |
California Gov. Gavin Newsom is set to announce today the closure of all beaches and state parks following the crowds that gathered at beaches last weekend, reports NBCLA.
In other words, the governor will make it more difficult for Californians to gain some much-needed vitamin D which promotes health,, based on his shallow illogical understanding of COVID-19, its spread and its danger level.
He has taken individual choice concerning risk-reward ratios and determined that risks should be determined by the state, and surprise, surprise has determined that the risk level for individuals in California must be near zero and that he will enforce this using state employed thugs.
From Friday to Sunday, about 80,000 people crowded the sand in Newport Beach, leading to an emergency city council meeting. On Tuesday, the Newport Beach City Council voted against a proposal that would have shut down the city's beaches for the next three weekends.
So the freak has stepped in to overrule.

This is amazing. Just about the only "established" medical opinions on this entire topic consist of studies showing that an immune system boost from vitamin D, whether from supplements and especially from sunshine, shortens and lessens the impact of respiratory viruses.
ReplyDeleteWorth repeating because this is always ignored and suppressed:
CONCLUSIONS:
In elderly people living in nursing home, vitamin D deficiency was higher and benefiting from ultraviolet index was lower compared to elderly people living in their own homes. Vitamin D deficiency could be prevented in elderly people, especially ones living in nursing homes, through enough sun exposure with appropriate clothing.

This must be some crackpot fringe outfit. The Facebook fact checkers will keep this one under wraps so the voters won't be misled.
ReplyDelete“Most people understand that vitamin D is critical for bone and muscle health,” said Carlos Camargo of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the study’s senior author. “Our analysis has also found that it helps the body fight acute respiratory infection, which is responsible for millions of deaths globally each year.”

$2.4 trillion to supply 25mcg D3 and 45mcg of K2 every day for a year to all 52.4 million 65 plus in the USA. If we are going to print money, might as well be for a better reason than the “stimulus”.
DeleteJust a wild guess. This guy wants the Democratic nomination for President. He's wildly popular in his own state (we will have to see, however, what this beach closure does to his polling). He is young, good looking, well spoken and a lefty/progressive who can appeal to the base of the Democratic Party. Yet he can appear "moderate" enough to appeal to swing-independents who usually decide close races. Clincher: California's huge electoral votes. When Biden goes to the nursing home this guy has a solid chance with a brokered convention.

I don't know why libertarians in CA don't go and live in Somalia. In this instance, it might actually be better...
ReplyDeleteGov. Nuisance has ended up closing the beaches of Orange County.
