Protesters are filling the streets of Iran after the Iranian government admitted that its forces accidentally shot down a Ukrainian jetliner, thinking that it was a U.S. military plane.
Since the shootdown occurred at the time Iranian forces were launching missiles at U.S. military bases in Iraq, in response to the U.S. assassination of Iranian Major General Qassim Soleimani, the shootdown can best be classified as a fog of war event. The Iranian government certainly had no plan to shoot down a passenger airplane, Ukranian or otherwise.
But the Iranian anti-government activists are using the attack to rally the masses, especially the youth, against the current Iranian regime.
According to the New York Times, videos showed some protesters shouting “Khamenei is a murderer!” This was in reference to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
No doubt Khamenei and other high ranking Iranian government officials suspect the possibility of U.S. operatives behind the protests. Since color revolutions/street protests appear to be the favorite modus operandi these days of the Empire when it desires regime change.
The foreign policy buffoon President Trump did nothing to quell those suspicions when he tweeted out, probably on the advice of a warmonger handler:
Then he retweeted the message in Farsi:To the brave, long-suffering people of Iran: I've stood with you since the beginning of my Presidency, and my Administration will continue to stand with you. We are following your protests closely, and are inspired by your courage.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 11, 2020
In other words, he continues to signal that the U.S is at war with the current Iranian regime.
This will do nothing but put Americans around the globe at risk.
The Iranian regime knows full well that it can't win a direct war against the U.S. because of the Empire's super superior military strength, so it must wage an asymmetrical war, a global guerilla war if you will.
The regime understands that the only thing it can do is make clear that U.S. forces in Iraq (and throughout the Middle East), and harassment of Iran, will come at a high cost. This means Iran will see to it that Americans, somewhere, somehow, through proxies so there is deniability, end up in body bags.
Their response is going to be as painful for Trump as possible. His tweet does nothing but intensify that desire to inflict pain.
Trump, in a way, has put a target on all of our backs. Almost all of us won't get hurt or killed by Iranian proxy attacks but a few will.

"To the brave, long-suffering people of Iran: I've stood with you since the beginning of my Presidency, and my Administration will continue to stand with you." As he applied sanctions on trade with Iranians...
