Trump Picks Heather Nauert, Former Fox News Anchor, As U.N. Ambassador

Heather Nauert
President Trump has chosen Heather Nauert, the Former "Fox & Friends" host and current State Department spokeswoman, to become the next ambassador to the U.N., according to multiple news agencies.

If confirmed, Nauert would replace Nikki Haley, who is leaving the post at the end of the year. She is probably most well known for the time she cited D-Day — the Allied invasion of Normandy against the Nazis — when discussing America's strong relationship with Germany.

She doesn't have a long track record of discussing United States foreign policy but the little we do know suggests neocon leanings.

In April 2018, Nauert voiced support for Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen. She also condemned "Iran’s malign influence" in Yemen. In May 2018, Nauert said in response to the Gaza border protests: "We oppose actions against Israel at the International Criminal Court (...) because it does not help the cause for peace."
