Commentary Magazine Attacks Tulsi Gabbard for Being Against US Intervention Abroad

Tulsi Gabbard
A New York Post snippet of a Commentary magazine essay:
As tricky as it may be to make early judgments about the 2020 White House race, Commentary’s Noah Rothman still argues that “we can safely say that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s interest in the presidency isn’t likely to do anyone any favors, least of all the Democratic Party.”
The 37-year-old Hawaiian, Congress’ first Hindu and a combat veteran, is seen as a rising Democratic star. But what makes her stand out is “her views on foreign affairs — and those views are no asset.” Because her “staunch opposition” to US intervention abroad and opposition to radical Islamist terrorism “often manifest in overt support for some of the world’s most atrocious and bloody authoritarian regimes,” particularly Syria’s Bashar al-Assad and his “chief patron,” Vladimir Putin. Fact is, she’s “a painful reminder” of what Democratic foreign policy looks like.
Excellent, the neocon warmongers are nervous. And it should be noted that, although weak on economic policy, Gabbard is the best coming out of the pack of twenty plus Democratic Party presidential candidates because of her very sound foreign policy views.

Whatsmore, unlike the chaotic unpredictable President Trump, she actually has a foreign policy based on the foundation of non-intervention.

The best thing that could happen to America right now is for her likely candidacy to gain traction,

  1. Agreed. She does seem logical overall and might be persuaded into localizing some federal programs, which is really the best outcome that libertarians can hope for in the next 25 years, i.e. end the wars and localize programs so we can have more accountability and transparency.

  2. Careful ... Gabbard is in the same area of the ideological spectrum as AOC. Using the transitive property of ideology-math, Gabbard is in the same area of the spectrum as Sanders, and Sanders is in the same area as AOC. Therefore, Gabbard is in the same area as AOC. Not good.

Also, regarding her (today) great foreign policy views, as I have said before, she hasn't had that late night, blinds drawn, meeting with the deep state ... yet. When it comes, her position will turn, just like every president before her -- with the exception of JFK, and that didn't turn out well.

    1. ITs hard to argue against your point. The swamp is an ocean and one person in an ocean cant exert much leverage.
