It is really difficult to understand why Trump lawyers waived attorney-client privilege and are allowing this tape to be played publicly.
There is no crime here but it does not put the president in a particularly good light.
Further, it probably makes sense to fight these kinds of things just so that Robert Mueller's lawyers have to waste time on a bunch of side battles that don't go anywhere.
