Is Pompeo Trying to Nuke Talks with North Korea?

U.S. Secretary of State upon arrival in North Korea
North Korea accused the Trump administration this morning of pushing a “unilateral and gangster-like demand for denuclearization” and called it “deeply regrettable,” hours after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said his two days of talks in the North Korean capital were “productive,” reports The New York Times.

“The attitude and demands from the U.S. side during the high-level talks were nothing short of deeply regrettable,” the ministry said, accusing American “working-level” officials of trying to destroy the agreement struck in Singapore.

Pompeo is a bloodthirsty warmonger, who knows what his agenda really is and who he really works for. Trump with his terrible ability to pick Administration personnel made a big mistake putting this guy at State.

When Trump nominated Pompeo for the State Department,
wrote:
Things have turned in a very bad direction in the Trump Administration with the firing of Rex Tillerson and President Trump's nomination of Mike Pompeo to succeed Tillerson at Secretary of State.

Pompeo, the current director of the CIA, is one evil dude.

Whereas Tillerson believed that Iran was complying with terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal with Iran, Pompeo is a serious Iran hater and will bring to the State Department a tone that is much more hostile to Iran and many other countries in the world.

Referring to the Iranian agreement, Pompeo has previously stated: “I look forward to rolling back this disastrous deal with the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.”
Pompeo also stated that a better option than negotiating with Iran would be to use “under 2,000 sorties to destroy the Iranian nuclear capacity. This is not an insurmountable task for the coalition forces.”...

Pompeo supports the surveillance programs of the National Security Agency, referring to the agency's efforts as "good and important work."

He stated that "Congress should pass a law re-establishing collection of all metadata, and combining it with publicly available financial and lifestyle information into a comprehensive, searchable database. Legal and bureaucratic impediments to surveillance should be removed. That includes Presidential Policy Directive-28, which bestows privacy rights on foreigners and imposes burdensome requirements to justify data collection."

He opposes the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. After a 2013 visit to the prison, Pompeo said, of the prisoners who were on hunger strike, "It looked to me like a lot of them had put on weight."

In February 2016, Pompeo said Edward Snowden "should be brought back from Russia and given due process, and I think the proper outcome would be that he would be given a death sentence."
And now it appears that Pompeo wants to derail talks with North Korea. Let's hope the egomaniac Trump is desirous enough of the Noble Peace prize that he derails Pompeo. The North Koreans are clearly signaling that Pompeo could make a mess of the denuclearization opening created by the historic Trump-Kim Jong un meeting.

  1. This guy is nothing less than an evil human being.
The only outcome of dismantling the meeting with Trump and Un is war. Horrific war.
North Korea will feel justified in their fears of a “Libyan” model and revert back to war postering.
And, knowing that the N. Korean regime is evil, still, who could blame them.
This bastard, (Pompeo) has to go.

  2. Because neocons believe in the US government's global domination, they don't really negotiate, as much as unilaterally demand. I'm all for foreign governments standing up to the US government's demands, and mocking them. While the mainstream may feel insulted, I cheer anything that reduces the US government's power in the world; that's a great outcome for US citizens, at a minimum.

  3. The big puzzle is why is Trump so bad at picking members of his administration? I would have thought there would be plenty of people he knows from outside the Swamp, but maybe with successful careers and real lives they would want to have nothing to do with the cesspool.
