DOJ Lawyer: ‘Dog-Sitting’ Would Conflict With Weekend Meeting on Family Separations

Yes, this is occurring in America. A federal judge has canceled a weekend hearing on children separated from their parents at the border because a DOJ lawyer  "can't" be separated over the weekend from her dog.

A government lawyer reportedly told a federal judge on Friday that her “dog-sitting responsibilities” would prevent her from appearing at a weekend meeting on the status of 100 children under the age of five who were separated from their parents at the border, NBC News reports.

When lawyers were asked where they would be over the weekend, the government attorney reportedly told Judge Dana Sabraw that she would “have to leave” San Diego for Colorado to dog-sit, and could not meet on Saturday to give an update in person. The judge agreed to meet Monday.
