Paul Manfort has been ordered to jail.
This is a developing story. Return to this post for updates.
Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manfaort has been ordered to jail ahead of his trial following allegations by special prosecutor Robert Mueller that Manfort attempted witness tampering.
Protesters outside the Washington courthouse shouted “lock him up” as Manafort arrived in a black SUV.
It was U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson who revoked Manafort’s bail.
Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 15, 2018
UPDATE 6NEW: Rudy Giuliani tells @NYDailyNews "things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons" when the "whole thing is over" in light of Paul Manafort being sent to jail.— Chris Sommerfeldt (@C_Sommerfeldt) June 15, 2018
Giuliani tells me he advised POTUS not to pardon anyone before Mueller probe ends & POTUS agrees. But pardons possible *after* Mueller probe— Paula Reid (@PaulaReidCBS) June 15, 2018
