Oakland Mayor Warns Undocumented Residents of Possible ICE Raids in Next 24 Hours

The battle is joined.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned residents of possible Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, raids starting “as soon as the within next 24 hours” in a press release issued Saturday night.

In the press release, Schaaf said she learned of the potential operations from multiple credible sources and urged residents to avoid panic and instead to prepare.

“My priority is for the well-being and safety of all residents — particularly our most vulnerable — and I know that Oakland is safer when we share information, encourage community awareness, and care for our neighbors,” Schaaf said in the press release.

Further details of the potential operations, such as precise locations, are still unknown, according to the press release.

What will closed border libertarian separatists say about this, especially since all in Oakland are likely welcomed on the property of US (tax paying) citizens?

  1. I consider everyone of them like the mayor human garbage that needs to be stripped of US citizenship and move to a turd world country with his low IQ turd world immigrants. Fake Americans every one of them who are so offended that immigration law is being enforced.

These illegal people should have been kicked out years ago.

    4. Yes, Torres, I know you would like to be taken by some buck African to make up for your white privilege. You have yet to show me any black run country that is on par with a first world White one. Show me the African industrial revolution, enlightenment, or any African on par with Jefferson, Madison. Ditto for other cultures.

How am I abhorrent? The numbers of these illegals has become a problem. We know American blacks are lazy so I could see having a new 'brasero' program if the jobs are agriculture. It amazes that you dopes who live in your lily white safe neighborhoods think its ok for millions of invaders to stay in this country to detriment of the rest of us. They offer nothing of value to the US. And the only rights illegals have are the one's we are even courteous enough to provide. They are not citizens, so they don't have any real rights.

So as I said, "Real" Americans don't call for someone they dislike to have their rights infringed upon. This was common under the Nazis, or Communist Russia, but Real Americans believe in inalienable rights endowed by their creator.

Since you think any nonreal Americans should leave, why don't you self deport to North Korea or somewhere where they share your beliefs?

Get in trouble in another country. Any legal formalities they give you are at their discretion. I have no claims as Mexican citizen, French, or whatever in those countries. The same applies here. We are way to nice to these people.

    9. Someone is dodging the issue. People used to say the same thing about the Irish and the Chinese and the Italians. It's pretty sad that some people are so ignorant they cant understand that and are so pompous they cant even admit when they are obviously wrong. I am going to go out on a limb and say you strongly identify with Trump, lab manager.

    10. This is one thing that bothers me the most about the closed border folks. That “they aren’t citizens, so they don’t have any rights”.
This is directly contradictory to what many of the Foudning Fathers has to say, particularly Jefferson and Madison, Lab Manager. You want to know what other people’s have given the world a Jefferson, but what you are saying shows that you don’t have a understanding of Jefferson. The Jeffersonians argues that ALL MEN HAD CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, no matter their citizenship, but simply from their personhood,as I’ve said before, obviously, as these rights were spelled out BEFORE there was a US citizen. That was their point in being against the Adams administration, and the Aliens act. What you are saying feeds into American exceptionalism, which allows Americans to turn a blind eye to US foreign interventionism and stupid wars, and not feel guilty about it. Those “other people” aren’t really people, they don’t really have rights, they aren’t really even human, so who cares if the US murders hundreds of thousands of them.
I understand both sides of the immigration discussion, but when folks degrade other humans to animals, I think their argument is crap. You can make your case logically, I would think, without it. Or maybe not.

    11. Joshua Bennett is exactly right. He claims everyone else is anti-American when he ignores the basic principles of the founding of the US and instead points to other countries and how we should be more like them.

Being against illegal immigration or immigration of any kind is one thing, but wanting to strip someone of citizenship because they broke the law (maybe) is so idiotic its unbelievable. By the way, Lab, just because you are white doesnt mean you invented calculus or the PC. Other people did.

    12. @The Lab Mismanager,
── Any legal formalities they give you are at their discretion. ──

If by "they" you mean their governments, you would be conflating Rights (our human ability to act on our own volition beyond the natural restraints of our environment) with government discretion.

Governments act like criminal enterprises, that's what they do. The fact that bureaucrats fancy themselves "the authority" does not confer justification to their transgressions. You cannot judge whether an action from government is just or moral if you don't have a moral framework to compare it with save the same government actions. Indeed you would be engaging in circular thinking.

── I have no claims as Mexican citizen, French, or whatever in those countries. ──

You have a rightful claim as a human individual of will who is born with Rights. Again, the fact that governments act criminally does not mean your Rights are predicated on their whims, only that these governments are composed of criminals: thieves, rapists, slavers, torturers and murderers. Therefore asset forfeitures, taxation, kidnapping (what some call "imprisonment", applying a sick sense of humor) and execution.

── The same applies here. ──

      Liar.

Precisely what makes America different is the idea that government action is restrained by the will of the People - all human individuals of will. The idea that only your 'citizenship' bestows you of rights is downright dangerous, for as easily the government granted you rights ─in your mind─ the same the government can take those away on a whim, with nary an objection from you if you were so righteously committed to the notion that government grants you rights. Or am I wrong and I am dealing with a hypocrite?

    1. Its Mayor Schaaf's job to see that her police force cooperates with ICE, not aid in harboring fugitives such as illegal aliens.

Would it be OK if she were to protect child molesters?

The vast majority committed no crimes, unless you count disobeying some politician’s scribbles, which I don’t know why any libertarian would. So it’s ICE that’s the aggressor here, as is the state’s MO.

--- In the same way that members of a golf club can instruct security to remove a trespasser, ---

The state of California is NOT owned by the Federal Government, which is what your analogy implies, unwittingly. Which means, you're witless.

--- A PPS with entry criteria would remove invaders. ---

Invaders, yes. Immigrants are not invaders, by definition or concept. The fact you don't like them doesn't mean they're ipso facto trespassers.

      Delete
    6. Marmite, you're right about the golf club and PPS, but a city is neither. In a private golf club/PPS, everyone would have voluntarily signed on to the operating rules. In a city, the rules are forcibly imposed on everyone (as is the funding for the enforcers). Some residents may not agree with these rules, nor want their funds to be used in this way, and may want to associate with, trade with, rent to or employ the illegals.

    7. DesertBunny: Silly question. How would you know who was a runaway slave and who wasn't? I guess you'd judge just by their skin color. We both know there are millions of illegal aliens in the US, but we can't pick them out just by looking.

Evan and Francisco: Illegal aliens are invaders, but they aren't soldiers. So what? The best case would be they self deport to whatever hell hole country they came from, along with any deportation order should come asset forfeiture. 3rd world countries are what they are for a reason, the people that live there. Let them go home and put their own houses in order, and stop draining resources from US taxpayers.

    8. Bob, if the feds were confiscating firearms from Americans, would you say it’s the mayors job to see to it that the police cooperate with the ATF?
People sure get upset when they talk about illegals draining resources from taxpayers, I wish the same people would instead complain about the State that takes the resources in the first place. I’ve never had an illegal force me to give them money, but the State will shoot me in the head if I don’t bend to it’s extortion, so it can give the money to illegals and leeches, like Lockheed.

    9. Re: Bob,

--- Evan and Francisco: Illegal aliens are invaders, but they aren't soldiers. ---

They're NOT invaders. They are always invited in, by the Market, i.e. by your neighbors who through their actions send signals throughout the network of billions of daily decisions, called The Market; signals which entrepreneurs and, yes, immigrant labor, listen to. You merely want to obviate this as your hatred for immigrants cloud your judgment.

      --- So what? ---

The "so what" indicates your unwillingness to discuss matters in an intellectually honest fashion.

--- The best case would be they self deport ---

There's no reason for them to self-deport. You merely wish they self-deported or that they're deported, but such a wish is a reflection of your own personality and not of any economically-sound reasoning.

--- along with any deportation order should come asset forfeiture ---

You mean you want the state to commit thievery.

--- Let them go home and put their own houses [sic] in order ---

The above is further evidence positive, Robert Wenzel, that Trumpistas such as Bob et al. are dangerous collectivists. The idea that immigrants are collectively engaged can only be the result of a twisted mind which is trained to look not at people, but at groups, with the consequences that such thinking entails.

    10. Francisco Torres: Sorry my neighbors nor anyone else has the right to invite anyone in from outside the country. Yup you are right I desire them to leave, I prefer voluntary that's easy, but by force if required. No different than if they were illegally living on my property. They have initiated force against us by being here, we have the right to use force in self defense if they refuse to leave. I State thievery? The state takes from me to give to the illegal alien. Who's the thief? The illegal alien, the state is just their proxy.

    11. Joshua Bennett: Nice straw-man argument, the feds confiscating firearms would be a violation of Constitutional rights. An illegal alien's rights are not violated by deportation.

Both are lies, M. They cannot "cost" anybody anything, as labor is PRODUCTIVE. Even if they didn't pay taxes (which is false) their productivity more than makes for any "benefits" Trumpistas claim they receive. If you want to make suxh claims, I can make the better-supported claim that children cost taxpayers and society much more than immigrants since children do not produce anything.

    3. Francisco: You need to learn a bit of basic accounting, illegal aliens consume more resources than they produce. The difference is born by the taxpayers, net-net they are a drag on the US.

Economics is NOT accounting. People who conflate the two are bad at both.

--- illegal aliens consume more resources than they produce. ---

That's a lie, Bob. First, one does not produce "resources". One produces economic goods. And illwgal immigrants are just immigrants who happen not to possess the government's transit papers.

The taxpayers are not paying "a difference" as they get to enjoy the lower costs of goods and services that immigrants produce.

If you want to continually showcase your ignirance, fine. At least do it with style, you know, like Marx did.

Schooling, SNAP, Medicaid, meals in schools, temporary assistance programs, legal representation, emergency rooms, infrastructure, police, judicial...each illegal pays far less in taxes than they consume in taxpayer financed services. We taxpayers are subsidizing each illegal by about 30k annually. So much for they are here because of the market.

── Schooling, SNAP, Medicaid, meals in schools, ──

Immigrants don't get "Schooling, SNAP, Medicaid, meals in schools". Maybe some immigrant children receive those things, but school is a mandate, not a benefit. Parents have lost their children to armed goons for daring not send their children to what are in essence jobs programs for unionized teachers. So don't even try that route.

And NO immigrant has access to SNAP, unless he or she is a legal resident and only after 5 years of demonstrable residency.

── each illegal pays far less in taxes than they consume in taxpayer financed services. ──

You CAN'T know that. Immigrants PAY taxes. Since you brought it up, schools are financed through State and Local taxes, and those are PAID by immigrants, whether by Property Taxes if they own or rent, or Sales Taxes, plus State Income Tax when they file.
