How the Deep State Works

I caught the film, Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, on Saturday.

It provides the story of Watergate through the eyes of the former Deputy Director of the FBI, Mark Felt, who claimed before he died that he was "Deep Throat," the source who provided the inside information to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein that brought down President Nixon.

There is some controversy over whether Felt really is the sole Deep Throat. However, whether he was the exclusive source for Woodward and Bernstein, the film provides excellent insight into how power mixed with personal feuds drives the Deep State.

When I caught the film, there were only about 6 people in the theatre here in San Francisco, so its theatrical run is likely over this week. Catch it if you can. If not be sure to catch it when it hits Amazon, Netflix, whatever.
