Illinois Makes 'Barack Obama Day' a State Holiday

Politicians love to hail other politicians---as if they do something worthwhile.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) signed a measure Friday to make Aug. 4 “Barack Obama Day” in the state, according to NBC Chicago. The holiday will be celebrated each year on Obama’s birthday beginning in 2018.

Senate Bill 55 was passed by both state houses with no votes against it.

I can't think of one decent thing Obama did in office.

The only good thing coming out of this is that Illinois government bureaucrats won't be harassing citizens of  Illinois on this day.

Meanwhile, Malia Obama goes pounding the ground crazy in Chicago.

  1. Obama normalized relations with Cuba, or something. That's the one good thing he did.

    1. He also seemed to not want to drop a nuclear bomb on Iran, unlike Trump now. Also, he backed down from doing a full on bombing of Syria after the magical red line was crossed.

    2. He also SOLVED America's healthcare problem. There were millions who couldn't afford health insurance before. Now, er, there um, uh, are more people who ostensibly have insurance, *cough*, can't pay, but theoretically, one of the metrics looks better!

    3. Businessmen didn't build their businesses, but one community organizer solved the healthcare problem! Wahoo!

    4. As others have said , he didn't get us involved in too many insane pointless wars. I will give him that.

Someone made the laughable statement that he SOLVED America's health care problem. That laughable nonsense. From unpleasant first hand experience I can tell you that it is a disaster for many in the middle class who don't have employer insurance. It will fail and be replaced by something else as sure as the sun rises in the East.

  2. Just think. THe schoolkids can do projects with little figurines and trucks going to a Pakistani mountain wedding when another kid with one of Obama's drones blows the crap out of them. The kids can then load the wounded into a van and another kid can blow the first responders' van all to Hell too!

  3. A library. An Expressway. Now a Day. Eventually Land of Lincoln can become Land of Obama and Abe's face will disappear from the license plates. At least the new plates move abe off to the side and only show part of his face. Maybe they are making space for Obama's?

  4. Actually the holiday is a commemorative day. It is not a legal state holiday where people are made to take the day off. So bureaucrats will still be harassing the hoi polloi.
